Jungle Scout vs. ASINspector: Which Tool Gets The Job Done?

Contents

These times, technological developments promote the rapid growth of online shopping platforms around the world.

As the number of online transactions increases every day, demands product supply skyrocket.

Before starting your business, you need to know what kind of product or service you will offer and who you expect to buy it.

From this point on, the next step is to find the right strategy to build and grow your business.

On Amazon, you have to analyze your competitors who sell similar products to yours and make sure that your strategy is strong enough to allow you to compete with them.

As lots of products are flooding online stores all over the world, you may not be able to analyze the market on your own.

Fortunately, there’re tools out there to help people do market analysis easily.

On Amazon, you can use these tools to analyze your competition, a specific niche or a specific product. You can find out about their average rating, price or ranking in sales.

This will give you an idea of how much your competitors earn every month, and also how often a product sells per month.

For Amazon sellers, there are many tools out there and Jungle Scout and ASINspector are two of the most popular and easy to use ones.

Despite looking similar at a glance, these two actually differ in features and pricing.

If you want to know which tool gets the job done, this article is for you.

Here’s what you will learn:

  • Differences in features
  • Differences in pricing
  • Pros and Cons of the tools

Let’s dive right in.

Picking the Right Tool

The transformation of the world of e-commerce is mostly led by Amazon, which is a very prominent international shopping platform.

When you join it as a seller, you must be prepared with not only a perfect product, but also an effective strategy to promote your product.

You will need the right tool to facilitate your work in analyzing the following three important segments:

1. Market

Understanding the demand for products in a particular market is your first step here.

Note the products that sell well and can meet consumers’ demands. You need this information to determine which type of product has the best chance to be sold at scale.

2. Product

By recognizing the items that are most in-demand on the market you will be able to create a list of the products that you want to sell.

The good thing about Amazon is that there’re tools like Jungle Scout or ASINspector that provide complete and helpful data on products being sold, including the keywords used to search the product, the product ranking in sales, the number of purchases, the prices and so on.

3. Competition

I can’t mention it often enough, but products should not only have huge demand, they also shouldn’t be too competitive.

The most common reason why people on Amazon fail is competition.

If there are already 1000 sellers for one product, you should definitely continue your research.

Jungle Scout vs. ASINspector: Options and Pricing

When visiting the Jungle Scout website, you will be offered three choices:

Jungle Scout Lite

This software doesn’t make room for amateurs, so it starts at $49 for 500 monthly orders if you go with the web-based version.

It will help you find and launch your product.

Extension

If you want to make your tool more powerful, you can add this Chrome extension that includes data research for Amazon products.

The lite version costs $29 per month while the full version charges $39 per month.

Bundled

As the top-of-the-line, the bundled version gives you access to Jungle Scout alongside its extensions for $69 per month. It’s good for up to 500 monthly orders.

You can make more than 500 orders providing you’re ready to pay more for every version.

Additional features are available in the bundled version to facilitate those who intend to enter the sales business.

If you want, you can check out Jungle Scout Pricing here.

As for ASINspector, it also comes in three versions:

Free Version

Of course, it costs nothing as it’s free, but you won’t get full features. With so many restrictions, this choice is only suitable for total beginners. If you’re not one of them, skip this version.

Pro Tool Version

This version is more serious than the free one as it lets you use more features designed for professionals. But it charges you an annual fee of $147 plus a monthly fee of $10.

Bundled Version

If you want the most advanced ASINspector, then the Bundled Version is what you are looking for.

Besides having pro features, this version also offers training in different segments such as inventory management or wholesale, allowing you to become more than just a professional, but also a smart seller.

The range-topping tool costs $67 per month or $47 per month if you pay annually.

In terms of price, both tools are affordable but with ASINspector you get unlimited access to all features no matter if you sell 500 or 1000 units while Jungle Scout limits you to 500 monthly orders at the entry-level version.

However, it’s hard to say, but I would go with Jungle Scout because it’s much more comprehensive than ASINspector. You can grab this Jungle Scout 30% Off deal here.

Jungle Scout vs. ASINspector: Features

So, first of all, Jungle Scout is an All-in-One tool that provides a ton of features compared to ASINspecor.

Regarding this, comparing the two tools is not an easy task.

However, we try to focus on the essential aspects:

Ease of Access

ASINspector only offers a Chrome extension for its users whereas Jungle Scout is more than that – you can also use its web application.

Both tools can be had as a Chrome extension, the usage of which is exclusive to Google’s browser.

But only Jungle Scout provides a Web App with a ton of useful features.

It’s worth noting, however, that ASINspector also offers a mobile app version, which means that you scan every product out there as long as you have a mobile device with an internet connection.

Product Variations

If you are interested in product variations, then Jungle Scout can show them, but this is a feature that ASINspector doesn’t have.

Hiding product variations can produce inaccurate information related to the market product. For example, if there are variations of a product, you won’t see them in ASINspector as the software only shows the first variation of the product.

In this case, Jungle Scout is the winner since it gives you more accuracy through the variations that it shows.

Sales Trend Data

Jungle Scout and ASINspector show you complete information about Best Seller Rank (BSR) history.

This ability is important to help you set the right strategy in facing the price battle in the market.

Search History

When you search using ASINspector, the application can save your search history through bookmarking.

This is a feature that is not provided if you use Jungle Scout.

Among the benefits of bookmarking favorite searches is that it allows the browser to operate faster thanks to the cached data, and it also reminds you of important information about the competing products.

Sourcing Products

Both tools, Jungle Scout and ASINspector provide a tool to find manufacturers for a product.

In this context Jungle Scout has the Supplier Database, which was introduced in 2019. Again, it’s hard to say, but I think Jungle Scout does better here.

Jungle Scout vs. ASINspector: Pros & Cons

Jungle Scout’s user interface is simpler and friendlier to newbie.

ASINspector does every search in a new tab, leading to the opening of many tabs.

Jungle Scout provides a Chrome extension and web application but doesn’t go mobile.

ASINspector offers an Amazon Chrome Extension and mobile software, but not a web application.

Jungle Scout Lite has better features than ASINspector Free.

ASINspector is designed primarily for those who barely use the tool every month.

Jungle Scout is great for professional Amazon sellers who need useful features to work with every day.

In terms of service, the two products in this comparison may appear similar.

Jungle Scout also provides more accurate results by differentiating between sponsored and organic products, as well as displaying product variations.

In the end, whichever product you buy, it will always make market research easier than if you go the manual way.

Both Jungle Scout and ASINspector offers a unique user experience and are great in their way, so whichever suits your requirement should be purchased.

I would go with Jungle Scout because it provides a ton of features compared to ASINspector.
