If you're a seller or want to start a business on Amazon, a product research tool is a must-have.
Why? The answer is quite simple: To know what products are profitable AND to know which products are not that competitive.
According to a recent survey of Amazon sellers, aside from time and ambition, having the right tools and information to meet market needs and enter a product niche at the right time is what makes an Amazon seller successful.
Sounds like a lot of hard work and time commitment right?
Not if you use the right tool.
So let's first take a rough look at what an Amazon tool actually is.
An Amazon seller tool is commonly used by individuals or eCommerce businesses to find the most profitable products, validate product ideas, filter data and track competitor trends.
There're many tools out there, however, not all of them work the same.
Jungle Scout and AmazeOwl are Amazon seller tools designed to provide you with the information and data you need to become successful on Amazon.
In this comparison guide Jungle Scout vs. AmazeOwl, we will discuss the benefits, features, and pricing of each tool.
Jungle Scout was created 6 years ago, by Greg Mercer, who started as an Amazon seller.
He was searching for a way to help others become as successful as he has been.
The result: Jungle Scout was born - a product research tool that allows users to find great products to sell.
In comparison to Jungle Scout, AmazeOwl is relatively newer. AmazeOwl has the same intentions in mind, which is to help Amazon sellers launch a successful product on Amazon and help them build their business.
You can search through over 600 million products through 11 marketplaces with AmazeOwl.
So that was a rough overview, now let's take a closer look at the tools to find out which one is more powerful.
Jungle Scout is available in two formats, web-based (Jungle Scout) and as a chrome extension (Jungle Scout Extension). It’s important to understand that these are two separate stand-alone products that can be purchased together for optimal performance.
Here's what's inside the web app:
Let's quickly go through all these tools:
You can use Product Database to find products with exactly those parameters that you're looking for. For example, you can use filters such as category, estimated sales, sales rank, revenue, reviews and lots more.

It works similar to Product Database, but it analyzes a whole niche, not a single product.
Thus, there's also a Niche Score that rates a specific niche, taking relevant data into account.
Here's who it looks like:
This feature will allow you to discover keywords that are used by customers to find products on Amazon.

But what about AmazeOwl?
AmazeOwl is a desktop-based application that also provides a chrome extension.
To fully utilize AmazeOwl, you must download the desktop app.
Here's what's inside:
Track relevant niche data to stay ahead of your competition.
Monitor the trends of the specific keywords that you've saved to your dashboard.
Automatically receive updates for changes in specific niches.
It's similar to Jungle Scouts Product Database.
However, it's by no means as comprehensive as Jungle Scout's Product Database.
You can search for specific keywords, save them to your dashboard and analyze them.
Finally, it's easy to evaluate that Jungle Scout is a lot more comprehensive than AmazeOwl since it provides a much larger toolset.
But what about data accuracy?
I would claim that Jungle Scout's data is more accurate since they have the budget to provide customers with high-quality data.
But that doesn't mean that AmazeOwl's data is poor. It only means that you can definitely rely on Jungle Scout.
