To sell on Amazon, you have to register as a seller in the Amazon Seller Central.
In this article, you will learn how to create an Amazon seller account - and which challenges you have to consider.
The registration process at Amazon is quite uncomplicated, but there are still some information you have to consider, which are essential for your business success.
The central point of communication for every FBA seller is the Amazon Seller Central.
Amazon Seller Central is the connection linking Amazon and your own business, which is why registration also takes place here.
To sell on Amazon, you have to clarify and fulfill the following information:
The credit card is only required for the registration process. After a successful registration, you can also set up your bank account for payout.
Amazon also needs this bank account for other payment transactions, e.g., for paying Amazon FBA fees.
Whether the sale of a product is still worth it after the reduction of the entire FBA fees can be easily checked with the Amazon FBA calculator AMZScout.
During registration, your identity must also be proven with a valid identity card or passport.
You should also provide a telephone number with which you can block your account.
For even more security, we recommended the use of a two-stage verification such as the Google Authenticator.
There are two different ways to sell products on Amazon. You can choose between a basic account, where you only have to pay money when you sell a product via Amazon.
And there is a professional seller account, which offers an optimal cost-benefit ratio for large sales volumes.
Professional seller account
Choose the account that best matches your sales volume and causes the lowest monthly fees.
If you are offering exclusive, high-priced products that you don't sell in large quantities, the basic account will be the best choice for you.
If you are in a low price segment and sell a lot of products, a professional seller account is worth it.
Otherwise, the sales fee of 0.99€ per item will significantly affect your margin.
The sales fees vary greatly depending on the products. You can find an overview of the different fees here.
Tip: Please only create a professional Amazon Seller account when your products are in the Amazon Warehouse.
This will save you valuable money, as you won't be able to sell any products before that time anyway.
You also have to enter a shop name that represents your brand. Make sure that another seller does not already use your shop name!
Each entry must also be double-checked and triple-checked. Later, you can't change incorrect information!
As soon as you have completed the registration process, you can start selling on Amazon.
